Doctors in Training & Students

Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Student Attachment Program

Since 2001 the Rural Doctors Workforce Agency, in partnership with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS), has been placing medical and nursing students with the RFDS to give them a greater understanding of the RFDS and the broader context of rural services.

To be placed on the roster for a one-day weekend attachment, university rural health club students are required to attend an orientation session at the RFDS Adelaide Base. The orientation session usually occur twice a year and will be promoted through the university rural health clubs.

RFDS attachment days are only available to medical and nursing students.
