Registrars
General practitioners working in rural South Australia are highly skilled and much valued by their communities. They work in their practices, in the hospital in patient wards and provide the emergency services.
GP registrars are absolutely integral to the general practice workforce in rural South Australia. GP Registrars practising in rural SA are supported by resident GPs who provide training and supervision while they undertake their General Practice training with one of the regional training providers, Adelaide to Outback General Practice or Sturt Fleurieu General Practice. Registrars can also apply to train through the Remote Vocational Training Scheme.
The RDWA provides support throughout your registrar years. Even though it’s early in your career, it’s absolutely the right time to think about and plan the business side of your practise. Our business service staff can talk to you about business structures and options and what might suit your needs.
We provide the resident general practice workforce with contract and financial advice, support professional development opportunities and can link you and your family into our Dr DOC program.
We can help you find the perfect position in rural practice through our recruitment services, and we can offer support in relocating to rural once you have finished your registrar years.
Our annual conference is a terrific way to keep up with happenings in rural SA, and we email a weekly E-Newsletter to all rural doctors.
And if there is anything else you would the RDWA to do, talk to us. We want to know what would be helpful to you in working in rural SA.
