RDWA Locum Program

The RDWA’s Locum Program is the jewel of our rural workforce retention services.

We employ a great complement of experienced general practitioners who we place in rural practices to allow resident GPs to take planned breaks from the demands of providing services to their communities.

We scale priority of access to the program.  Highest priority is given to situations where one doctor provides all the medical services to the community and the local public hospital.

Rural General Practice Locum Program

The Rural General Practice Locum Program is a subsidy program, managed by the RDWA for the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing.

Both the GP recipient and the GP Locum provider need to be registered to be considered for the subsidy.
