Doctor Vacancies

Rural Locum Relief Program

The Rural Locum Relief Program (RLRP) allows overseas trained doctors (OTDs) who have:

  • permanent residency or citizenship of Australia; and
  • not yet attained Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners;

to provide general practitioner services in rural and remote areas and access Medicare rebates.

OTDS are subject to Medicare provider number restrictions, and need to obtain an exemption to be issued a Medicare provider number to receive Medicare rebates.

The RDWA administers the RLRP in South Australia. Contact us if you think you are eligible or to apply or visit the DoctorConnect website for more information.
