The Practice
Lincoln Medical Centre (LMC) currently has four full-time GPs. There is both procedural and non-procedural member GPs. The practice is a teaching practice associated with the Spencer Gulf Rural Health School and Flinders University. There is the opportunity to provide services in any of: family medicine, emergency medicine, sports medicine, dermatology, Aboriginal health, counselling, minor surgery, mental health, palliative care, geriatrics and chronic disease management.
Port Lincoln Health Services has been identified as a Regional Hospital. The hospital provides a large range of medical and allied health services. It has 50 acute beds, there are 300 deliveries per year. There are no salaried medical officers employed at the Hospital. There is a resident full-time General Physician and a full-time General Surgeon. Visiting specialists cover gynaecology, ophthalmology, ENT, vascular surgery, endocrinology, upper limb orthopaedics, dermatology, psychology, psychiatry, paediatrics, reproductive medicine, child development unit and audiology. There is also radiology and pathology services.
The resident GPs are responsible for the care of patients they admit to the Port Lincoln Hospital.
All GPs in Port Lincoln are rostered to cover after hours Accident and Emergency presentations at the Port Lincoln Hospital. This involves a particular GP being committed to approximately one day on a weekend every four weeks and one week night every four weeks.
While GPs with Obstetrics are responsible for their own patients, there is an emergency backup roster for Obstetrics that involves being available for a week every seven weeks.
LMC is committed to providing patients with a high standard of care whilst incorporating a holistic approach towards diagnosis and management of illness. LMC are committed to promoting health, wellbeing and disease prevention to all patients. LMC employs administrative and clinical staff to support the GPs. Between them, the three practice nurses provide both duty nurse, immunisation, chronic disease management and other enhanced primary care support.
The opening hours of the Practice are as follows: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm, Saturday 8.30am to 11.30am.
Home visit appointments can be made by prior arrangement and at the discretion of the GP.

Port Lincoln is a delightful city of about 16,000 residents that overlooks beautiful Boston Bay on the south eastern shore of Eyre Peninsula. The city has ready access to national parks, stunning coastlines, beaches and off-shore islands. It is renowned for isolated beaches, excellent recreational fishing, great surfing and world class sailing waters.
Port Lincoln can be reached from Adelaide via a 35 minute flight or a seven hour road trip.
Port Lincoln services the rural, fishing, aquaculture and tourism industries and is the main service and retail centre for much of Eyre Peninsula.
The city has four kindergartens, a public junior primary school, three public primary schools, a Catholic reception to year 12 school and a new Lutheran school that will eventually also cater for reception to year 12. There is a TAFE college that runs a number of certificate and diploma course across a variety of trades and professions.
Port Lincoln offers a wide range of sporting, cultural and leisure activities. These include many of the traditional summer and winter team sports as well as sailing, boating, fishing, surfing, camping, and bushwalking. There is also a range of arts, theatre and music groups.
The protected water ways of Boston and Coffin Bays, the ruggedness of the west coast from Port Lincoln to Streaky Bay with its world class surf breaks, the offshore islands in Spencer Gulf, nearby national parks and the pleasant Mediterranean climate make Port Lincoln a very attractive place to work and play
