The Practice
The mission for the Practice is to provide the highest standard of patient care incorporating a holistic approach toward diagnosis and management of illness. The Practice is committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle and prevention of disease to all patients. It provides excellent care and aims to treat all patients equally and with due respect.
The Practice is staffed by five GPs, one Practice Manager, five Administrative staff and four Registered Nurses and an Enrolled Nurse.
The main services provided by the Practice include comprehensive, coordinated and continued medical care for individuals, families and communities, emergency medicine, radiography (extremities only) and palliative care.
Consulting hours at the Practice are Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm and Saturday, 8.30am to 11.30am. After hours on-call is rostered one in four days/weekends.

Moonta, Moonta Bay and Port Hughes has a rapidly growing population currently around 5,000 and is comprised of a diverse community ranging from young families to an aged community and a small number of Aboriginal people. The population of the town triples during holiday periods and it is an increasingly popular tourist destination. New residential developments in Moonta, Moonta Bay and Port Hughes are driving population growth and local council predictions indicate an increase to around 16,000 by the year 2020. Moonta is 164 kilometres from Adelaide, an hour and 45 minute drive.
The main sources of industry in the region are tourism, agriculture, aquaculture and construction. There are no other Practices in the town.
Moonta has a local area school catering from Reception to Year 12. Private schools are located in Wallaroo and Kadina within a 15 minute drive of Moonta, with school bus runs available.
Sports and recreational facilities in the area include football, netball, lawn bowls, golf, tennis, croquet and cricket. There are numerous restaurants and quality eating places within the town and the shopping facilities within the area are excellent.
Places of interest nearby include The Dunes, Port Hughes which is a watered Greg Norman Designed Golf Course with greens, and a resort is being built there. The area has fantastic beaches for water sports and good fishing.
