RDWA Family Program
The RDWA offers assistance to the partners and children of doctors in a variety of ways. When a doctor is settling into a new community we will help connect you with the local people and services. From finding the right school and hairdresser to a shop that sells halal food, we can assist. The RDWA has extensive experience in settling doctors and their families.
We recognise that often partners and families sacrifice a great deal to accommodate the demands of having a GP in the family. To support this we offer grants to assist GP’s partners to further their education and gain meaningful employment.
We also recognise the impact on families and offer child-care subsidies to support our female GPs who are juggling work and family, particularly those with pre-school aged children.
The annual RDWA conference celebrates the families of GPs by organising an extensive family program.
