Dr DOC

The RDWA wants your wellbeing to be high on your list of priorities. We know how important you are to your community and to your family, and we want to make sure that you take care of yourself.

Our Dr DOC (Duty of Care) program supports you to take care of yourself, your family and your colleagues.

Dr DOC programs and services work across the full spectrum of health care; from prevention through early intervention to acute or chronic situations. And we are always available at the end of a phone if there is a crisis.

We provide confidential, expert support for any personal situation facing you or your family.

We understand the constant demands on rural GPs, and that you rarely get time out for yourself.

At the prevention end of the health care spectrum, our GP Restore program has been a favourite for many years.

GP Restore enables you to take time away and to reflect on your professional and personal needs and goals. The weekend program is held in the beautiful setting of Mt Lofty in the Adelaide Hills.

Everyone needs to have access to confidential general practitioner and specialist services, for check up, screening and for treatment. Our GPs for GPs program gives you access to a range of GPs in metropolitan Adelaide or rural locations so that you and your family can access private, totally confidential medical services.

We can even assist to set up a clinic for you and your colleagues in your local practice during a weekend so you can take care of that screening or general health check you have all been meaning to get around to.

Link Doctors are part of RDWA's trained, confidential personal support service in your local area. Each division of General Practice or General Practice Network has Link Doctors.

Link Doctors are a first point of contact if you or a member of your family wants to discuss a problem. They can help you find a practitioner locally to support you or your family, or provide collegial support directly.

Through our Crisis Service we can arrange immediate access to a range of health practitioners at short notice for you or your family. This support can be by phone or in person, and includes access to psychologists and psychiatrists. Absolute confidentiality and discretion are assured.

And, if you have to leave your practice at short notice, we will do all we can to source locum services so that you don't have to leave your community without essential services.
