Link Doctors
The Link Doctors program has established the network of peer support doctors (Link Doctors) in every rural Division of General Practice across South Australia.
The Link Doctors act as a confidential point of first contact for colleagues in distress, offer caring support and pastoral care.
They are carefully chosen and trained in this role and form a network across rural South Australia to reduce isolation to more remote doctors.
How can your Link Doctor help you?
• Being a confidential point of first contact for colleagues and spouses/partners
• Offering friendly collegiate support to doctors and spouses/partners in need
• Facilitating access to other health professionals and service
• Crisis intervention for doctors and spouses/partners
• Promoting doctor health and wellbeing within their Division of General Practice
• Developing a local Crisis plan with Divisions of General Practice
• Ensuring the Rural Medical Family Network and each Division of General Practice work closely on rural doctor family issues
