RDWA’s Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Resident Rural GP / RG Travel Subsidy provides funding for personal costs associated with travelling to accredited CPD.
The Subsidy is a rural GP/RG workforce retention strategy funded by the Regional Local Health Networks.
You can apply for a subsidy if you live in rural SA and you are working in rural private general practice in SA. This subsidy is not for GPs employed solely in regional public hospitals.
If you are an AGPT Registrar living and working in rural SA, you can apply for a subsidy to attend RDWA funded CPD including RESP, medical professional development events and the annual RDWA GP/RG conference. Other travel is not eligible.
Private Medical Specialists should refer to the Private Specialists CPD Subsidy.
The CPD activity must be in Australia, take place between 1 July 2023 and 30 June 2024 and be accredited by:
Fellowship Exam attendance is not an eligible activity.
Travel must be by the most direct route by private vehicle or economy air travel. If applicable, private vehicle parking or taxi transfer costs can be subsidised. Costs associated with hire cars are not eligible.
Economy airfares are reimbursed at the ticketed cost. Private vehicle kilometres are subsidised per kilometre logged by the rural GP / RG. Parking costs are subsidised to a maximum limit per day. Claims for taxi costs must clearly indicate the details.
Accommodation is subsided to a maximum limit based on actual costs incurred in commercial accommodation associated with the travel for the night/s of the educational activity and up to one additional night if required to meet the event start or finish times.
Meals and other incidentals are not eligible activities.
