Cultural Safety Training Grant

The Cultural Safety Training Grant provides funding to support rural South Australia’s primary health care (PHC) clinicians and practice support staff to increase their skills and knowledge in providing culturally safe care for First Nations people.

The grant offers reimbursement for costs incurred in completing recognised cultural safety training of up to $200 per person.

Recognised courses include those offered by the Centre for Cultural Competence Australia, RACGP, ACRRM, or those recommended by health-related professional bodies. Training must occur between 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025.

For training or courses with costs higher than $200 or those with travel involved, please consider applying for a bursary or scholarship through the Health Workforce Scholarship Program.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this grant, applicants must:

  • Work in a South Australian rural location (MM2-7)
  • Deliver PHC services or support the practice service delivery in an administrative role
  • Intend to remain in the rural location for the next 12 months
  • Not deliver solely aged care and/or disability services
  • Not work solely for or be a local, state or Australian Government entity
  • Not have received an RDWA cultural competence or safety grant in the last three years.
