Lower Eyre Family Practice provides community-based patient-centred healthcare services, with a major focus on chronic disease management to the Cummins community and surrounding districts. The practice provides on-call services to nearby Cummins and District Memorial Hospital, and services aged residents in the hospital and Miroma Hostel Nursing Home. There is an outlying branch clinic in Coffin Bay where GP’s visit weekly to see patients.
The practice offers variety in scope and is supported by Fellowed GPs, a practice manager, practice nurses, and administration staff. The practice hosts visiting specialists and allied health services. There is the opportunity to gain fellowship with ACRRM through the RVTS or work through the MDRAP program.
The hospital is supported by SAVES (South Australian Virtual Emergency Service) to provide support for after-hours presentations.
Hours:
- Practice: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
- Hospital: approximately two days per week and two weekends per month
Qualifications considered
- Minimum four years of recent general practice
- Recent emergency experience, or prepared to upskill
- MBBS or equivalent
- Medical registration with AHPRA
- CHSA credentials as a General Practitioner in the clinical domain of GP Medicine (emergency medicine), particularly for the Cummins and District Memorial Hospital
- Current medical indemnity
Desirable
- Postgraduate qualification relevant to general practice (e.g. Diploma of Child Health, Diploma in Obstetrics)
- Experience in emergency medicine
