The Kapunda and Eudunda Medical Practice are currently seeking an experienced GP to work in the practice in both locations and in the shared on-call roster to the Kapunda and Eudunda Hospitals. With fresh air and wide open spaces, practice in these communities gives you immense variety in your scope of practice as well as an enviable lifestyle in the country, all within easy access of metropolitan Adelaide.
Kapunda and Eudunda are both Distribution Priority Areas
Working with a large team of vocationally registered GPs, this role gives you the opportunity to practice the full range of primary care, across a wide population and age groups. You can also add diversity to your day to day practise by participating in the training and supervision of registrars and medical students.
Session and consulting days are negotiable. Standard work hours include Hospital ward rounds at 8.30am and consulting from 9.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
On call is provided to both Hospitals as part of a shared roster arrangement typically rostered one weekday per week and one weekend in approximately five.
Previous exposure to Australian General Practice or Hospital Emergency Department is desirable, but not essential.
Kapunda Medical Practice is the main surgery, with the second surgery located in nearby Eudunda, less than 20 minutes away. Both practices are accredited training practices. You will be supported by a team of practice partners, associates, nurses and administrative staff along with a host of visiting Specialists and Allied Health professionals, including:
As well as Podiatry, Audiology, Physiotherapy, Dental, Dieticians and Mental Health services.
The practices provide inpatient care to the Kapunda Hospital, which has 23 acute beds, and offers a range of services. Eudunda Hospital has 6 acute beds for emergencies only, and 16 aged care beds.
The practices provide obstetric services and anaesthetic assistance as required.
A beautiful town with historic significance, Kapunda was initially established as a mining hub in 1842. While the mining has ceased, the town retains its Victorian era charm with stunning architecture, established gardens and a multitude of activities for locals and visitors.
The Kapunda township is surrounded by a patchwork of rolling hills, farmland and vineyards. Locals are spoiled for choice with activities ranging from fun and adventure with sporting clubs, golf courses, swimming pool and mining trails, to learning about the founding of South Australia, early industry and settlements with museums and heritage landmarks. Kapunda has a population of 4,000 residents while Eudunda has a smaller population of under 1,000.
