A rewarding opportunity exists for a General Practitioner to work Full or Part time at Littlehampton Medical Centre, a well-established, purpose built medical practice.

The Role

This full or part-time VR GP role is a great opportunity to practice the wide scope of rural medicine on the city fringes.

Supported by a skilled team with extensive experience, this unique position enables you to embrace patient centred medicine in a family practice. You will enjoy the wide scope of practice available serving the local communities.

Standard work hours during clinic consulting hours are between Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5:30pm. Saturday mornings and late night clinics are on a shared roster. No on call emergency medical services are required in this role.

Essential Criteria

• Vocationally Registered
• MBBS or equivalent
• Current emergency medicine experience

A postgraduate qualification relevant to general practice (e.g. Diploma of Child Health, Diploma in Obstetrics) is desirable, but not essential.

Littlehampton Medical Centre is a well-established family practice in the Adelaide hills. Supported by a team of experienced nurses, skilled management and administration staff, the clinic is housed in a modern, purpose built and fully equipped medical practice with onsite pathology and Allied Health support, including:

The nearby Mount Barker District Soldiers Memorial Hospital provides acute services ranging from in-hospital care for adults and children by local general practitioners to specialist surgical, obstetrics and outpatients. Services at the hospital include:

Less than an hour from the CBD and nestled in the stunning Adelaide Hills, the historic town of Littlehampton was first established in 1849. Traditionally a farming community, the town attracts residents looking for a tree change with all the amenities of a large metropolitan city within reach.

Set in the beautiful Adelaide Hills, the township is surrounded by vineyards and native bushland, with numerous walking trails to explore and art galleries, restaurants and wineries to visit. You can get involved with one of the large number of community sporting clubs that proudly represent Littlehampton including soccer, tennis, hockey, netball and football.  

Littlehampton Preschool caters for children aged 4-5 and the primary school provides education for Reception to year 6. Nearby Mount Barker offers several public and private schooling options for children from Kindergarten through to year 12.
