The Role

This part time VR GP role is a great opportunity to practice a wide scope of medicine on the city fringes. Splitting your work week across 2 clinics in the Adelaide Hills, one in the bustling city of Mount Barker and the other in the picturesque hamlet of Balhannah, you will love the diversity in your day to day practise.

Standard work hours include up to 8 sessions per week during clinic consulting hours. Clinic consulting hours are between Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5:30pm and Wednesday 8:30am – 7pm. Saturday mornings between 8.30am – 12pm are on a rostered basis of 1 Saturday day per month. Session rosters can be negotiated on commencement of the role.

No after hours or on call medical services are required in this role.

Essential Criteria

• Vocationally Registered
• MBBS or equivalent
• Emergency medicine experience
• Ability to gain credentials as a Medical Practitioner in the clinical domain of GP Medicine

A postgraduate qualification relevant to general practice (e.g. Diploma of Child Health, Diploma in Obstetrics) is desirable, but not essential.

Mount Barker & Balhannah Medical Clinics is a family practice that has provided high quality health care to the Adelaide Hills communities for more than 30 years. The Practices are staffed by a large team of highly experienced full time GPs and an extensive support team including Practice Manager, practice nurses and administrative staff.

A full complement of allied health specialists are widely available nearby, and services located within the practice includes:

You will enjoy practising in the modern, fully equipped facilities. The Mount Barker practice is adjacent to the Mount Barker District Soldiers Memorial Hospital, which provides services including:

Balhannah is a quiet little hamlet set among the fruit orchards of the Adelaide Hills and surrounded by vineyards and world famous wineries. The stunning little town boasts historic buildings and a quiet country lifestyle with the bush at your back door and the city at your fingertips.

Home to a number of public and private schools delivering superior education to children from Kindergarten through to year 12, students in Mount Barker also have the ability to travel to nearby towns or the Adelaide CBD for education at a school of their choice.
