Ferrers Medical Clinic are looking for a full or part time General Practitioner and or a part time GP Obstetrician to join their family practice in the bustling regional city of Mount Gambier. These roles offer diversity in practice and a fantastic country lifestyle in the lush South East.
Mount Gambier is a Distribution Priority Area. The Mt Gambier and Districts Hospital is a major country hospital in SA, providing the local population excellent access to acute care.
Ferrers Medical Clinic are looking for a full or part time General Practitioner and or a part time GP Obstetrician to join their family practice is Mount Gambier.
In this multifaceted role you will have the opportunity to practise a wide range of medicine. You will love working alongside the supportive team of experienced VR GPs, visiting specialists and experienced practice staff.
Ferrers Medical Clinic is an accredited teaching practice.
Standard hours for consultations are rostered between the hours of 8:30am – 6:30pm Monday to Friday, and 9am – 11.30am Saturday.
A duty doctor is rostered after-hours to respond to minor after hours emergencies, which may include home and nursing home visits. The Mt Gambier Hospital has a fully staffed accident and emergency service.
ACCRM or RACGP fellowship will be highly regarded.
A postgraduate qualification relevant to general practice (e.g. Diploma in Obstetrics, Diploma of Child Health) is desirable, but not essential.
Supported by a large and highly competent practice team, you will enjoy the fully equipped and well appointed facility.
Services provided by the practice include:
Pathology is provided on site and the clinic has a visiting Specialist Rheumatologist. Numerous other specialists are available locally in Mt Gambier including Gynaecologists, General Surgeons, Physicians, Ophthalmologists, Orthopaedic Surgeons, ENT, Renal Physician and Respiratory Physician.
Recently redeveloped, the fully equipped hospital provides general medical and surgical services, Obstetrics, Accident and Emergency (A&E) and Dialysis. Acute Mental Health services are provided through the A&E service and ongoing management through Community Health Mental Health Team.
Located in south eastern South Australia, Mount Gambier is the largest city in rural South Australia and has a population of approximately 26,000.
Local industry ranges from primary industries, such as timber and forestry, wineries, agriculture, fishing and transport. Local attractions include the Blue Lake, the famous Coonawarra wine region, seaside towns of Port MacDonnell, South End, Robe and Beachport and the popular Glenelg River. The city has a thriving retail centre and enjoys a vibrant social atmosphere with cinemas, theatres, local events and festivals and a multitude of sporting complexes.
Mount Gambier is serviced by a number of private and public schools catering to students from Kindergarten to Year 12. Mount Gambier is also home to the James Morrison Jazz Academy, an internationally recognised education space; UniSA Campus and the Flinders University eNVIsion Innovation Space
