Port Augusta Medical Centre

The Position

Port Augusta Medical Centre is seeking full time general practitioners to join our small team of 3 doctors in providing high quality patient care to the community and surrounding areas. As a General Practitioner you will provide primary health care including both acute & chronic illness care to the patients of the Port Augusta Medical Centre, the community, the surrounding areas and visitors to the area. Experience in Women’s health will be highly regarded. The position offers full time work Monday to Friday with the opportunity for Saturday work or in the Emergency department of the local hospital.

The Practice

The Port Augusta Medical Centre offers a wide range of health care services including immunisations, aged care and chronic disease management. The GP is an independent practitioner who works as part of the primary health care team in the medical practice and is supported by a Practice Manager, four administration staff and four practice nurses.

The Community

The practice is in the town of Port Augusta and is called ‘the crossroads of Australia’, roads from Sydney to Perth and Adelaide to Darwin pass through Port Augusta.  It is a major shopping, government and commercial centre. Port Augusta is the fifth largest city in South Australia with a population of 14,000. There are approximately 3,500 families with children 15 years and under.
