This full time VR or non-VR GP position in the bustling coastal city of Port Lincoln promises an exciting sea change with plenty of variety. Supported by a large and experienced team, you could be working towards fellowship in a town with white sandy beaches, an excellent local food and arts scene and unrivalled national parks, all within a short 50 minute flight to Adelaide.
Port Lincoln is a Distribution Priority Area and a location that is included in the Five-Year OTD Scheme.
Joining the experienced team of local GPs at Boston Bay Family Health Practice, you will be supported by a full range of visiting specialists and experienced practice staff. With the ability to practice the full scope of rural medicine, as well as providing medical services to the recently redeveloped Port Lincoln Hospital, this role gives you the opportunity to practise a wide range of medicine which can also include procedural obstetrics and/or anaesthetics for suitably qualified GPs.
As an accredited teaching practice, diversity can be added to the role for suitably qualified GPs by supervising registrars and medical students.
Standard work hours include up to 10 sessions per week, consulting across Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5pm.
As a member of this experienced team, this position also provides after hours and emergency on-call medical services to the Port Lincoln Hospital as part of a shared roster.
A postgraduate qualification relevant to general practice (e.g. Diploma of Child Health, Diploma in Obstetrics) is desirable, but not essential.
Skills and training in Obstetrics and Anaesthetics are desirable, but not essential.
