New, fully equipped clinic in busy coastal city ready to welcome new GP

This VR or non-VR GP position available in the coastal city of Port Lincoln promises an exciting sea change with plenty of variety. The position is available full time, part time, transitioning to retirement (eg. 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off), we’re open to working with you to find the right work life balance. 

Port Lincoln is a Distribution Priority Area and a location that is included in the Five-Year OTD Scheme.

The Role

Joining a team of experienced resident VR GPs, you will be supported by a full range of visiting specialists and experienced practice staff. With the ability to practice the full scope of rural medicine, as well as providing medical services to the recently redeveloped Port Lincoln Hospital, this role gives you the opportunity to practise a wide range of medicine which can also include procedural obstetrics and/or anaesthetics for suitably qualified GPs. 

Investigator Clinic is an accredited teaching practice, providing you with the opportunity to supervise registrars.

Up to 10 sessions per week are available, consulting across Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm and Saturdays 8:30am – 11:30am.

You also have the option to participate in the emergency on call roster to the Port Lincoln Hospital.

Essential Criteria

  • Vocationally Registered
  • MBBS or equivalent.

Investigator Clinic provides care to the residents of Port Lincoln, a rural city of approximately 16,000 residents, and surrounding communities. The services the clinic provides to the local community includes:

Supported by a full of team of experienced Registered Nurses and practice staff you will enjoy the facilities at the new, purpose built clinic, with SA Pathology located on site.

You will have access to a full range of local allied health services and the recently redeveloped, fully equipped Port Lincoln Hospital provides a broad range of specialist services, including:

Boasting untouched beaches, quality local dining options with seafood plucked from pristine waters, rare flora and fauna in nearby national parks, and close up wildlife experiences, this friendly community with a small city feel draws tourists year-round. Direct flights are available between Port Lincoln and Adelaide daily.

Children living in and around Port Lincoln have a selection of Kindergartens, and public and private schools from reception to year 12 to choose from. The Port Lincoln Special School provides quality education programs for students from Reception to Year 13 who have an intellectual disability, sensory or physical impairments or autism.
