A full time VR GP position in the historic township of Port Pirie, nestled between the Spencer Gulf and the spectacular Flinders Rangers, is now available for a GP passionate about rural healthcare.
Port Pirie is a Distribution Priority Area.
This full time VR position offers an experienced GP the opportunity to practise a wide range of medicine at the practice, Central Clinic, and can also include after hours on-call emergency medical services to the Port Pirie Hospital.
As an accredited training practice, you will also have the chance to supervise registrars and medical students.
Standard work hours include up to 10 sessions per week during consulting hours, Monday to Friday, 8am – 5.30pm and Saturday 8am – 12pm.
If you wish to provide after hours on-call medical services to the Port Pirie Hospital for emergency presentations you can do so as part of a shared on call roster. The shared roster is generally 2-3 weekdays and 1 weekend day per month.
Experience in emergency medicine and postgraduate qualifications relevant to general practice (e.g. Diploma of Child Health) are desirable, but not essential.
