Roxby Downs Doctors Surgery is seeking a full-time VR or non-VR General Practitioner to build excellent relationships with local patients and who has an interest in preventative healthcare, chronic disease management, women’s, children’s and men’s health, obstetrics and occupational health. The GP will need to reside in the town and accommodation is provided for the first 12 months. The successful applicant will be experienced in emergency medicine and provide services to the local hospital as part of the on-call roster.
Roxby Downs is a Distribution Priority Area and is a location included in the Five Year OTD Scheme.
Roxby Downs Doctors Surgery is a friendly environment and the clinic is co-located with the Hospital, dentist rooms and Community Health centre, so the working environment is vibrant and relaxed. The hospital provides in-patient and emergency services. The practice employs two practice nurses and three receptionists who all work closely with the Doctors to provide the best possible care to our patients. The clinic has visiting practice managers and software trainers to assist in developing practice processes. Roxby Downs Doctors Surgery operates in Roxby Downs, a mining town in outback South Australia which exists for the purpose of supporting the nearby Olympic Dam mine, owned and operated by BHP.
Roxby Downs is set amongst some of the most beautiful desert scenery in Australia. The red earth, always blue skies and green native vegetation is a sight to behold. Residents are also regularly treated to magnificent sunsets and sometimes even a spectacular desert lightning storm.
