Roxby Downs Doctors Surgery focuses on preventative health care, chronic disease management, women’s, children’s and men’s health, obstetrics, and occupational health. The practice provides in-patient and emergency services to the local hospital, and services the residents of Roxby Downs and surrounding communities.

The practice has a friendly environment and is supported by a team of GP/RGs, nurses, and admin staff. The practice is co-located with the hospital, dentist rooms and Community Health centre and works closely with local and visiting allied health services.

The hospital is supported by SAVES (South Australian Virtual Emergency Service) for after-hours accident and emergency presentations.

Practice hours:

• Practice: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
• Practice: Thursday 8:00am to 8:00pm
• Practice: Saturday 12:00pm to 5:00pm
• Practice: Sunday 2:00pm to 5:00pm

Hospital

• Shared on-call emergency roster
• Inpatient services

Qualifications considered / Experience

• Vocational registration
• MBBS or equivalent
• Recent emergency experience
• Ability to gain credentials as a General Practitioner – GP Emergency Medicine

Roxby Downs is located in the remote north of South Australia and is a service point to BHP’s Olympic Dam operations. The town has a population of around 4000 with a median age of 30, and many modern facilities to service the community and surrounds.
