Eligible doctors who are relocating from a metropolitan, interstate or overseas location to a rural South Australian town to live and work in general practice can apply for a Relocation Grant.
The Grant is an incentive to support doctors and their families with the costs of moving to rural SA and supports local communities to access general practitioner services.
The Grant can support travel, removal expenses and subsidise rent in the first six months to a combined value of up to $6,000. Interstate or overseas applicants may be eligible to apply for more funding at RDWA’s discretion.
You can apply for the Rural GP/RG Relocation Grant if you are a rural GP/RG, or a non-Fellowed doctor moving to live and work in a rural SA town, or a GP registrar who is finishing their Australian General Practice Training and intending to remain in the town. Applicants must be working at least five sessions per week in the new role. The Grant Guidelines have full details.
Applications are open
