If you are an eligible health care professional working in primary health care in rural or remote South Australia, you can apply for a grant of up to $10,000 to increase your clinical skills and scope of practice through online training or study.
During the past three years, over 500 grants have been awarded to support South Australia’s rural primary health care workforce
These are some examples of activities that are supported by this Program:
Costs for travel, accommodation and course fees can be considered for support through the program.
Health professionals who provide primary care services to MMM 3-7 rural and remote communities and are practising in the fields of:
General Practitioners, mental health professionals and health professionals working in Aboriginal Health Services are priority health workforce for this program.
Health professionals employed solely by the State Government (i.e. employed in a public hospital) are not eligible to apply.

The Health Workforce Scholarship Program is an initiative of the Australian Government Department of Health and is managed nationally by the consortium of Rural Workforce Agencies and locally by RDWA.
