If you are a health care professional working in primary health care in rural or remote South Australia, you may be eligible for a grant of up to $10,000 to increase your clinical skills and scope of practice through training or study.
Round 5 of the 2019-20 Health Workforce Scholarship Program will open in March 2020. Please contact us if you would like to be notified when this round opens.
These are some examples of activities that are supported by this Program:
Costs for travel, accommodation and course fees can be considered for support through the program.
All activities supported through a scholarship and bursary need to be completed by 31 December 2020.
Health professionals who provide primary care services to MMM 3-7 rural and remote communities and are practising in the fields of:
RDWA encourages eligible health professionals to apply. General Practitioners, mental health professionals and health professionals working in Aboriginal Health Services have been identified as priorities for this Program.
Health professionals employed solely by the State Government (i.e. employed in a public hospital) are not eligible to apply.

The Health Workforce Scholarship Program is an initiative of the Australian Government Department of Health and is managed nationally by the consortium of Rural Workforce Agencies and locally by RDWA.
