Long Service Medals 2018

The services provided by GPs and Specialists to rural communities are invaluable.

The RDWA Board believe it is important to recognise and celebrate the many years of service provided by our rural doctors. As an organisation, we have created the tradition of recognising this effort by awarding Long Service Medals to those who have contributed 25 and 35 years of service to rural South Australia.

Eligibility for these awards is based on the following criteria:

  • 25 years or more rural or remote general practice in Australia, including a significant period working in South Australia
  • Being a resident rural/remote GP
  • Being a resident or visiting specialist to rural/remote areas

The period of rural practice does not have to be continuous but needs to total 25 or 35 years as at April 2018. Retired rural/remote doctors are also eligible provided they meet the criteria.

The medals will be awarded as part of the RDWA Annual Conference, which will be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre on 18-19 May 2018. The medal ceremony will form part of the Dinner on Saturday 19 May 2018.

Nominations are now closed. If you can any questions about the Long Service Medals please contact us on 08 8234 8277.
