RDWA is offering a two-day, advanced-level emergency medicine workshop, RESP Plus.
In recognition of the long-term GPs in rural practice who have been undertaking RESP since its inception, the RDWA has partnered with Learn EM to develop an advanced version of RESP; RESP Plus.
RESP Plus will focus on complex areas of resuscitation and procedural skills, incorporate training in identified areas of emergency care such as neonatal resuscitation, sedation of the acutely agitated patient, resuscitation of the acutely ill and basic and advanced life support training.
The program has a blended delivery model, with an online learning component prior to attendance at a two-day practical workshop. The online learning modules require a time commitment of at least 10 hours and the workshop comprises two full days.
You can apply for a position on this course if you are living and practising as a rural GP in an SA rural location, currently credentialed by Country Health SA LHN to provide on-call services and rostered on the local rural public hospital’s emergency on-call service. You need to have completed RESP in the past two years.
The RESP Plus workshop is accredited for 80 Cat 1 RACGP points for both the online and practical workshops and 30 PRPD + 30 points MOPS with ACCRM. The workshop meets the criteria for the Rural Procedural Grant for Emergency Medicine, Anaesthesia, Surgery and Obstetrics.
We expect a high demand for this professional development program, and encourage you to apply early.
