Introducing and building on the tools and techniques of using Ultrasound in daily practise, the RDWA is offering rural resident GPs an Australasian Society for Ultrasound Medicine (ASUM) accredited two-day Primary Care Ultrasound program.
At the end of the course you will be able to offer patients ultrasound assessment of the abdomen, lungs and musculoskeletal system as well as monitor first trimester pregnancy and enhance your capacity to offer ultrasound-guided procedures. These are skills that can prove invaluable in both a general practice or emergency setting.
The program has a blended delivery model with an online learning component prior to attendance at a two-day practical workshop. The online learning modules require a time commitment of at least 10 hours and the workshop comprises two full days.
Delivered by Learn EM, the program is accredited with Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) and the Australasian Society for Ultrasound Medicine (ASUM).
You can apply for a position in this course if you are living and practising as a rural GP in an SA rural location.
The Primary Care Ultrasound workshop is accredited for 80 Cat 1 RACGP points for both the online and practical workshops and 30 PRPD + 30 points MOPS with ACCRM. The workshop meets the criteria for the Rural Procedural Grant for Emergency Medicine, Anaesthesia, Surgery and Obstetrics.
We expect a high demand for this new professional development program and encourage you to apply early.
