Mental Health Education for Allied Health Professionals, Nurses and Midwives
About the Education
The RDWA Mental Health Education Series for Allied Health Professionals, Nurses and Midwives is a live local education and networking dinner that will be held in six rural locations throughout SA in 2023.
Designed by Dr Cate Howell for rural allied health, nursing and midwifery professionals, Cate will present on evidence-based psychological interventions that can be applied to support patient mental health and wellbeing. These interventions will provide allied health professionals with a set of practical tools that support meaningful outcomes and aid in the recovery from mental illness or play a preventative role.
Cate is a GP, therapist, educator, speaker, and author with over 30 years of training and experience in the health area, and a special interest in mental health.
The dinner and education provide an opportunity to network with local colleagues and learn strategies that will assist in working with patients experiencing mental health and physical health issues.
Professional development
Certificates of attendance and learning outcomes will be provided to participants who attend the session and complete the post event evaluation for submitting to their relevant professional body.
Eligibility
Rural Allied Health Professionals, Nurses and Midwives working in primary care in rural SA are eligible and encouraged to attend the local session. There is no cost to participants and dinner is provided.

Sessions will be hosted in the following locations. Sessions start at 7pm and will conclude by 9pm, including a half hour dinner.
