RDWA’ s Registrar program recognises that GP registrars training in rural South Australia not only play a part in the provision of primary health care while they are training, but are also integral to the future of the rural general practice workforce.
Throughout your general practice training in rural South Australia, RDWA supports your personal wellbeing. Our Dr DOC program offers access to a totally confidential service, linking you to a range of rural or city based doctors for general health care.
Through our family support programs, the Rural GP Child Care Grant aims to assist eligible resident rural GPs and registrars to remain in the workforce while they have pre-school aged children.
Each year in May, the RDWA Annual Conference delivers a clinical program and provides an opportunity to network with other rural general practitioners from around the state. All registrars training in rural South Australia along with rural pathway registrars undertaking their Core Clinical Training (ACRRM) or their Hospital Training Time (RACGP) are invited to register for RDWA’s Annual Conference.
And when you complete training and are looking to establish yourself in rural general practice, we can assist you. We know what is happening in rural SA and offer a range of services to help you decide where you wish to establish your independent rural general practice. We also offer support to you and your family to help you find your feet in your new community.
