The Rural Skills Grant is a workforce incentive that supports the individual skills development for non-Fellowed GPs practising in private general practice in rural South Australia.
The grant provides up to a total of $3,000 towards skill development activities that will increase rural general practice capability. Applicants can submit one application for up to three activities, with activities being completed by 31 January 2026.

To be eligible for this grant, you must be an International Medical Graduate or Australian Medical Graduate who meets all the following criteria:
Rural GPs, RGs and Registrars who are working solely for SA Health are not eligible.
Single Employer Model (SEM) participants will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

If applications exceed available funding RDWA will prioritise Applicants from MM5-7 locations.
