The Rural Health Professionals Program (RHPP) supports Australia’s rural and remote health workforce by recruiting new Australian-trained and overseas-trained nursing and allied health professionals into rural and remote areas of Australia, and providing them appropriate support services once they commence work, in order to improve workforce retention rates.
Approved candidates are provided retention support for up to two years to assist them to remain practising in rural and remote South Australia.
The RHPP is funded by the Australian Government’s Department of Health and managed nationally by Rural Health Workforce Australia.
The RDWA delivers the program in South Australia.
