RURAL YEARS 10, 11 & 12 - UNI VISITS

Health degrees - Travel subsidy

Rural high school students who want to explore health degrees at the annual  University Open days can apply for a subsidy for the costs of your travel.

Each year, prior to the Open Days, we offer financial support to SA’s rural high school students dreaming of medicine or health degrees so that travel costs are not a barrier to attend, and because attending uni open days in person makes a real difference to seeing yourself at uni in the future.

Are you keen to start exploring life as a Uni Student in a health degree?

Is this for me?

Please see our guidelines for all the details. You can apply for a travel subsidy if you live in rural SA and are in year 10,11, or 12 at a rural high school, you want to seriously explore study in medicine / health degree, and you want to go to the face to face uni open days in August 2024.

Key features

Subsidies are determined by RDWA based on the distance you need to travel, for example if you live more than 500 kilometres from the centre of Adelaide, we can provide up to $500 travel subsidy; and if you live up to 200 kilometres from the centre of Adelaide we can provide a subsidy of up to $100.

You and your family/carers make all your own travel arrangements – if you receive a subsidy it will be to offset your private transport costs.

Applications for this grant will open again in mid-2024 for the August 2024 open days.

If you would like more detail or to be notified when applications open again, please let us know.
