Rural High School University Open Days Travel Grant

RDWA’S Rural High School University Open Days 2024 Travel Grant aims to contribute to increasing the number of clinicians delivering health services to SA’s rural and remote communities.

The grant is part of the active encouragement and support RDWA provides to rural high school students to apply for medicine, nursing and allied health degrees.

The grant recognises the significant barriers some rural high school students and their families/carers face when University Open Days are held in Adelaide. Grants support travel costs.

Eligibility

You can apply for a Grant if you are the parent/guardian of an eligible high school student, or an eligible adult high school student.

An eligible high school student must be:

  • Seriously considering applying for a health degree at a SA university at the end of Year 12
  • Attending a high school in a rural location
  • Living in a rural location
  • In Year 12, 11 or 10 in 2024

You can check if the home and school locations are in MM 2-7 in South Australia using the Health Workforce Locator on-line tool.
