Murray Mallee General Practice Network

Murray Mallee General Practice Network are looking for a Mental Health Clinician to join their experienced team of GPs and primary health care practitioners. Based in Murray Bridge, just 1 hour from the Adelaide CBD, this is a rewarding move for a mental health clinician passionate about assisting a large multicultural rural community.

The Role

Supported by an experienced team offering opportunities to continue expanding your clinical skills through training and study, this rare position is perfect for a mental health clinician at any stage of your career.

As part of a dynamic team, you will enjoy the variety in practice that comes with the opportunity to deliver services to a large multicultural community.  You will be working across a variety of programs including the Psychological Therapies (PTS), Clinical Care Coordination (CCC) and Mental Health Shared Care with General Practice programs.

Based in Murray Bridge, you will have the opportunity to provide services in multiple practices across the Murray Mallee region on a rostered basis, adding even more diversity to this exciting role and a unique opportunity to explore the Murray Mallee region.

This flexible role is offered on either a full or part time basis providing fantastic work-life balance.

Consulting hours are Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm. No after hours or weekend work is required.

Essential Criteria

This role is open to:

  • Psychologists with AHPRA registration
  • Mental Health Social Workers with AASW registration
  • Occupational Therapists with mental health credentialing and AHPRA registration
  • Registered Nurses with post graduate tertiary mental health qualifications
  • Provisional Psychologists requiring supervision.

Experience in group work, triage, acute and complex assessment, and care co-ordination is desirable, but not essential.

Experience working in a trauma-informed way with mental health preventative services, suicide prevention, services for Aboriginal people, perinatal services, child mental health services, chronic and complex conditions, and rural & remote communities will be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be required to supply a current National Police Check and Child Safe Environments check.

As the role provides services across multiple practices in the Murray Mallee region, a current driver’s license is essential.

The Practice

Seeking to build healthy and resilient people and communities, Murray Mallee General Practice Network provides primary mental health services across 7 practices in the Murray Mallee region. Working alongside general practice, the practice offers youth mental health care services, is the lead agency for headspace Murray Bridge, and provides adult mental health care with qualified clinicians providing services in each of the MMGPN practices.

With a strong patient focus, MMGPN GPs and primary health care teams collaborate to ensure a wholistic approach to primary care for all patients.

The successful applicant may be eligible for a Rural Relocation Support Package through the Rural Doctors Workforce Agency.
